Unfriendly Still life Acrylic on canvas, pvc plastic and real fruits, 2019 72 cm × 100 cm & 52cm × 42cm Unfriendly still life is a 4-dimensional sculptural painting juxtaposes with unsustainable immortal plastics, this is a painting that celebrates material pleasures and as a warning of the ephemerality of these pleasures. I focused on fruits and decay by making the object worthy of interest for the public, adding dimensions and time into the 16th century old masters such as Cézanne. These decaying fruits are cast in vacuum-formed pvc shells at their early ripe stage, freeze in moment contrasts with the rotting process of fresh food in the shell, in order bring attention and renew appreciation of food through new still life paintings.
